Greg Boerboom of Marshall, MN, was appointed to North Star Mutual Insurance Company’s Board of Directors in January of 2024.

Boerboom, along with his wife, Paula, and their children Mike, Matt, and Laura, own Boerboom Ag Resources, “A third generation progressive, family farm focusing on raising quality and nutritious pork”. Today’s operations focus on raising pigs from farrowing to market while employing 50 individuals and working with approximately 55 area farmers. Boerboom is originally from Marshall, MN. In 1981, he and his wife, Paula, took over the family farm operations from his parents, John and Thresa Boerboom. They continued raising cattle, pigs, corn, and soybeans. In 1992, they built the Home Sow Farm, which was expanded in 2021. Other notable additions to the farming operation include building a feed mill in 2012 to allow purchase of corn from local farmers, adding the Redwood Sow Farm in 2017, and forming a research partnership with a local swine nutritionist.

Boerboom served on the Executive Board of the Minnesota Pork Producers Association from 2012 to 2020, serving as Executive Board President from 2018-2020.
